APPROACHING DEADLINES

Hello Everyone,
I suppose during the conference here in Katowice I was pre-occupied with Giorgios and his unfortunate nose incident and now I have realized I have very foggy memories of what deadlines we managed to establish.
When do we send the song to Scotland? Is it one song in Polish on a CD + lyrics? And "My Bonnie" chorus in Polish, too?
And when do we send legends to Greece? Is is one legend + illustration and one poem + illustration?
Sorry about being so absent-minded but I spent most of the time sending texts to Magda, and Magda who was supposed to take notes spent the conference time in the hospital:)
I would greatly appreciate the clarification of these issues.

NOVEMBER VISIT IN KATOWICE

Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well in this new school year. I am, and we all here are, really looking forward to
your visit.
I am putting here the programme of your visit - I have sent it to all of you, but maybe not all of you have received the files, as I have not received all confirmations.

For the Greek students and our students from the Spanish and Greek exchanges, here is their programme:

The families have prepared a lot of attractions for the time when the kids are with them, so I hope they will all have a great time and make good friends.
We would be happy to learn about their arrival and departure times - we would like to plan everything as far as the airport transport is concerned.

There is one problem - we have not received ANY films for the festival yet! At the beginning of the school year I wrote to all of you asking to send it to us some time before the visit, as we need to watch all films, prepare the kids who are going to announce them, plan how long the event is going to last, decide which award each film will get etc. So, we need to know what each film is about.
Could you please, please send us the films?

School end

Hello everyone,
we have finished our school lessons and we are now working on our students' evaluation.
In two days we'll fly to Scotland and we are so thrilled!!
During our visit we'll have a tour in Edimburgh and in Lochness. For two days we'll visit Dalmarnock school.
Thanks to our Scottish friends who are so supportive!
About our wiki: as we have a little space it would be very useful if all of us check the photos posted and try to compress them. I think I'll took off something.
That's all for now.
Speak soon!
Love,
Chiara

LogoSound - final arrangements

Just to confirm some details about Tuesday, May 4th.
Our computer room is free from 11.30, I will sneak in at about 11.15 to start preparing things, and will start trying to connect to you from about 11.45 (10.45 in Glasgow, 12.45 in Antiparos).
Please, do the following things:
- send me, as soon as possible, your Skype names - I have two so far.
- decide how many points you give to each of the pictures (Scotland, Greece and Spain from 16 to 2 and Italy from 16 to 1).
- the lowest score (1 point) from Poland, Spain, Greece and Scotland goes automatically to a 'koala' picture (we had to put something in place of the fourth logo and decided to choose something as far from the sea as possible:))
- please, have a look at the voting website: http://dev203.pgs-soft.com/Comenius/Vote.aspx and prepare the presentation of your votes in the following way:
Greece picture one: ......... points;
Greece picture two: ......... points;
Greece picture three: ........ points;
Greece picture four: .......... points;
Italy picture one: ...........points;
Itlay picture two: .......... points
and so on.
We will have the voting website and will be typing in all your votes. After each country has finished you can press the refresh button and the results will be updated - also, the country with the winning (so far) logo will be moving to the front.
Any questions?

LogoVision / LogoSound

Hello again,

Today we had a rehearsal with some of my Polish colleagues (like a voting simulation) - a few computers, Skype and the voting website. The connection went well, we could hear each other well and calculating the points was smooth, too.
However, it turned out that we could only see each other on a "one to one" basis, which means we can only establish vision with one school at a time. So we think it will be better to give up the "vision" side and have all schools connected by sound at the same time. So maybe it would be better to change the name of the event to: LogoSound.

Anyway, what we need everyone to do now is to send us your Skype name as soon as possible.
Our schools have finished voting for the logos, so we already know which logo will get how many points from our Polish jury. Hope your voting is going well, too.

A question after our visit to Ravenna schools.

Dear friends,
We noticed that in some of the classes there were two teachers. We supposed that one of them was the main teacher of the class, and the other was in charge of a student with special needs.
- Is it so?
- Do you have a teacher for each of these students whole time?
- Do they work always inside the class?

LogoVision

Hello Everyone,
I would like to present the main points about the LogoVision event, during which the official logo of our project will be chosen.

DATE
I have talked to Nancy about the date and she suggests the beginning of May, just before the Spanish visit, so that the logo can be presented for the first time officially during this visit.
As Monday May 3rd is a day off here, how about Tuesday, May 4th, at for example GMT 10.00? This is our suggestion, do you agree?

BEFORE THE EVENT
As soon as Chiara posts the Italian logos, each school needs to:
- print all the 20 logos and exhibit them for all students and teachers to see,
- conduct an internal voting event (according to the rules the schools themselves choose), during which all students and teachers would have a chance to give their votes for 16 logos (four logos of each school except their own),
- calculate the results according to the pattern: the logo with most votes 16 points, next - 15 points etc until the logo with the fewest votes - 1 point.
- prepare the necessary equipment - a computer with the Internet connection, installed and ready-to-use Skype and a webcam,
- prepare a LogoVision team - a teacher who would be in charge, students who would be the 'in-studio' staff responsible for presenting their school's voting results and possibly some audience (in the background) to cheer and applaud;)

ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT
- come to the LogoVision studio early enough to try out the equipment and to leave some time for the connection procedures, so that the event can start at 10.00 GMT sharp (that's 11.00 am in Scotland, 12.00 noon in Poland, Italy and Spain and 1.00 pm in Greece)

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
