A question after our visit to Ravenna schools.

Dear friends,
We noticed that in some of the classes there were two teachers. We supposed that one of them was the main teacher of the class, and the other was in charge of a student with special needs.
- Is it so?
- Do you have a teacher for each of these students whole time?
- Do they work always inside the class?

  1. Dear Ester,
in Camerani school where children stay at school all day, there are two teachers dealing with all the subjects and a full timetable. During your visit some colleagues of mine were together in their classes just to welcome you and to help me.
In Torre and Morelli school children have lessons all the mornings (also on Saturdays) and two afternoons in a week. There is a class teacher and one or two teachers to cover the whole timetable. For instance, I'm a "specialised" teacher and I teach English in the classes where the main teachers don't have the qualification to teach it.
If we have special needs children, depending on the problem, there is usually a helping teacher who supports the class teacher for some hours. Sometimes they work in a different classroom if the child needs concentration or for some reason is noisy or disturbs the rest of the class.
